A psychological horror thriller, Case 39 apparently bombed at the box office when it was released in 2010. I found the film to be a pretty acceptable old-school horror, in many ways harking back to those of the late 70s and early 80s; there are elements from some of the classics of that era which inevitably makes it derivative, but it's by no means a bad film.

It ends up playing like a more entertaining form of The Good Son.
